Green Roof Chicken Coop

When it comes to chicken coop construction, Green Roof Chicken Coop has constructed a few unique chicken coops. The aesthetic appeal to a flourishing green roof is obvious and the concept is certainly synergistic with raising chickens. But, from our perspective, the construction of a green roof chicken coop is more difficult. The roof requires more support. Incorporating drainage might be critical if you live in an area with significant rain or even significant seasonal rain. We’ve looked at the plans for Green Roof. The original green roof chicken coop does not have drainage as a part of the design. However, we think it would be easy to add by drilling some holes in the side and adding a PVC drain or pipe. Most ground is not level so it would just be a matter of using a level on the top of the chicken coop and putting the drains on the lower side. It really doesn’t require much of a slope to drain. If you happen to have perfectly level ground, you can always elevate one side artificially. As for the herb garden chicken coop, they have drainage built into the design. They seem to be getting smarter! We are looking forward to the next design and really look forward to seeing a large green roof chicken coop! Anyway, the chicken coop plans for the Original Green Roof Chicken Coop were done in Auto Cad and are very detailed (70 pages) and the plans for the Herb Garden Chicken Coop were done in Google Sketch-up and every bit as detailed (120 pages). We want to make sure you are not intimidated by the large number of pages. They are meant to take you step by step and get you to the end of the project successfully. The plans include shopping lists, cut lists and illustrated instructions that walk you through the process. Each set of plans cost $34.95.
